If you have a story to tell or information you want to share with me, but are concerned about the sensitivity of this material and/or your security, there are some concrete steps you can take to stay safe.

First and foremost: If you want to remain anonymous and/or discuss anything sensitive, do not contact me from an email address, computer, phone, or network owned by your employer. This is for your safety.

The easiest way to securely contact me is via Signal, a free, end-to-end encrypted IM and voice calling application available for your smartphone or computer. My Signal username is sambiddle.29

Please don’t send non-Signal calls/texts to that number, as I will not receive them.

The Intercept maintains a SecureDrop server, which you can use to send me sensitive materials. For more on using SecureDrop (and becoming a confidential source in general), check out this guide.

The Freedom of the Press Foundation has more good advice on this topic here that I would recommend reading.

If you have any questions at all about any of the above or anything else, let me know.
